Handling Instructions Technical Support

Cardiolipin (16:0/18:1/16:0/18:1) (16:0-18:1 Cardiolipin) sodium is a di-saturated mitochondrial-specific anionic phospholipid sodium salt containing the long-chain fatty acid palmitic acid (HY-N0830) and the monounsaturated fatty acid oleic acid (HY-N1446). Cardiolipin (16:0/18:1/16:0/18:1) sodium undergoes in-source fragmentation via diglyceride (DG)-H2O fragment formation and (DG-H2O) fragment loss pathways. Cardiolipin (16:0/18:1/16:0/18:1) sodium can be used in the synthesis of lipid nanodiscs for application in in situ mass spectrometry.

Description

Cardiolipin (16:0/18:1/16:0/18:1) (16:0-18:1 Cardiolipin) sodium is a di-saturated mitochondrial-specific anionic phospholipid sodium salt containing the long-chain fatty acid palmitic acid (HY-N0830) and the monounsaturated fatty acid oleic acid (HY-N1446). Cardiolipin (16:0/18:1/16:0/18:1) sodium can be used in the synthesis of lipid nanodiscs for application in in situ mass spectrometry[1].

In Vitro

Cardiolipin (16:0/18:1/16:0/18:1) sodium shows no significant increase in in-source fragmentation in MALDI-2 (M2) mode relative to MALDI-1 (M1) mode, though MALDI-1 with 15% increased laser power (M1p15) causes a statistically significant increase in fragmentation for both tested pathways[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
