Biological Activity: MERS-CoV-IN-3 is a 3CLpro inhibitor with an IC50 of 1.7 μM against MERS-CoV 3CLpro and an IC50 of 0.2 μM against SARS-CoV 3CLpro. MERS-CoV-IN-3 functionally inhibits protease activity essential for viral replication, downregulates viral protein production, reduces the secretion of infectious viral particles, and suppresses the replication of α-coronaviruses and β-coronaviruses derived from humans and cats. MERS-CoV-IN-3 can be used in studies related to coronavirus infections[1].
