Biological Activity: Atherosperminine (Atherospermine) hydrochloride is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor. Atherosperminine hydrochloride inhibits growth of chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium falciparum. Atherosperminine hydrochloride scavenges DPPH free radicals, exhibits ferric reducing power, and chelates metal ions. Atherosperminine hydrochloride can be used for the research of malaria[1][2].
