Bovine Factor X
Bovine Factor X is a vitamin K-dependent plasma serine protease that is activated to generate Factor Xa. Bovine Factor X mediates the common coagulation pathway and catalyzes the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin. Bovine Factor X is the first enzyme to act in the common pathway of thrombosis in the coagulation cascade. Bovine Factor X can be used in studies related to Factor X deficiency.

In Vitro
Bovine Factor X can be proteolytically activated to Factor Xa by the Factor IXa-Factor VIIIa complex, Factor VIIa-tissue factor complex, or Russell's viper venom metalloproteinase, and Factor Xa converts prothrombin to thrombin[1][2].
Bovine Factor X variants exhibit abnormalities in antigen levels or coagulation activity in coagulation function assays such as PT, APTT, RVV, and chromogenic substrate assays[2].
