Caged MK801
Caged MK801 is a photolabile NMDA receptor open-channel blocker. Caged MK801 releases MK801 upon photolysis activation, producing use-dependent blockade of NMDA receptor currents and synaptic NMDA receptor-mediated currents. Caged MK801 releases MK801 by photolysis in the postsynaptic region (somatodendritic region), which blocks the induction of timing-dependent long-term potentiation (t-LTP). Caged MK801 can be used in research related to neurological diseases.

In Vitro
Caged MK801 (1 mM; axonal UV flash) blocks t-LTD induction in paired L4-L2/3 recordings, whereas soma-dendritic flash does not block t-LTD[1].
