Galacto-PUGNAc
Galacto-PUGNAc is a selective competitive inhibitor of lysosomal β-hexosaminidases (HEX), with Ki values of 51 and 18 nM, for hHEXA and hHEXB, respectively. Galacto-PUGNAc elevates GM2 ganglioside levels in neuroblastoma cells. Galacto-PUGNAc can be used for the research of neurodegenerative disorders.

Biological Activity
Galacto-PUGNAc inhibits purified G. gallus GH 27 α-N-acetylgalactosaminidase with a Ki of 140 mM, showing 2800-fold selectivity for human lysosomal β-hexosaminidases[1].
Galacto-PUGNAc (200 μM; 9 days) increases GM2 ganglioside levels by 30-40% in human SK-N-SH neuroblastoma cells[1].
Galacto-PUGNAc (50 μM; overnight) does not increase O-GlcNAc-modified protein levels in cultured human SK-N-SH neuroblastoma cells[1].
