Iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate, for cell culture, 99%
Based on 2 publication(s) in Google Scholar
Iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate, for cell culture, 99% (Ferrous sulfate heptahydrate, for cell culture, 99%) is an orally active iron salt. Iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate, for cell culture, 99% replaces iron found in hemoglobin and myoglobin, allowing for the transportation of oxygen via hemoglobin. Iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate, for cell culture, 99% is mainly used for the prevention of iron-deficiency anemia. Iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate, for cell culture, 99% also has anti-tumor effects on chronic myeloid leukemia and breast cancer.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Iron (II) sulfate (16-125 μM; 48 h) heptahydrate, for cell culture, 99% inhibits the growth of K562 chronic myeloid leukemia cells and T47D breast cancer cells[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only. Further protocols information, click here.
In Vivo
Iron(II) sulfate (0.4 mg/kg b.w./10 days; p.o., via drinking water; 10 days) heptahydrate, for cell culture, 99% is less effective than iron oxide nanoparticles in treating iron deficiency anemia in rats[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
-
Animal Model:Male albino rats with iron deficiency anemia model induced by a standard iron-free basal diet for six weeks[3]
-
Dosage:0.4 mg/kg b.w./10 days
-
Administration:Administered in the drinking water, 10 days
-
Result:Increased red blood cells count, hemoglobin concentration, hematocrit value, serum ferritin, transferrin saturation, and serum iron levels.
Caused a significant increase in serum malondialdehyde and C-reactive protein levels, indicating more oxidative stress and inflammation.

Breast Cancer Modeling
Breast cancer is a heterogeneous cancer, and it has been distinguished into four subtypes: luminal A, luminal B, HER2-positive and basal-like. Molecular mutations, epigenetic alterations, hormone exposure and immune microenvironment are related to the progression of breast cancer.
