Handling Instructions Technical Support

Kaempferol 5-glucoside (Kaempferol 5-O-β-D-glucopyranoside) is an orally active flavonol glycoside and immunomodulator. Kaempferol 5-glucoside is isolated from the aerial parts of Indigofera aspalathoides Vahl ex DC. Kaempferol 5-glucoside enhances delayed-type hypersensitivity in rats. Kaempferol 5-glucoside increases humoral antibody titers. Kaempferol 5-glucoside is used for the research of autoimmune diseases.

Description

Kaempferol 5-glucoside (Kaempferol 5-O-β-D-glucopyranoside) is an orally active flavonol glycoside and immunomodulator. Kaempferol 5-glucoside is isolated from the aerial parts of Indigofera aspalathoides Vahl ex DC. Kaempferol 5-glucoside enhances delayed-type hypersensitivity in rats. Kaempferol 5-glucoside increases humoral antibody titers. Kaempferol 5-glucoside is used for the research of autoimmune diseases[1].

In Vivo

Kaempferol 5-glucoside (10-100 mg/kg; p.o.) exhibits dose-dependent immunomodulatory activity in Wistar albino rats, which significantly increases neutrophil adhesion rate (up to 41.07%), delayed-type hypersensitivity (maximum increase in paw pad thickness of 54.25%), and humoral antibody titer (primary titer up to 36.51, secondary titer up to 72.92)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Wistar albino (110-160 g, either sex)[1]
Dosage: 10 mg/kg; 20 mg/kg; 50 mg/kg; 100 mg/kg
Administration: p.o.; daily
Result: Increased neutrophil adhesion to 31.43% (10 mg/kg), 39.73% (20 mg/kg), 40.94% (50 mg/kg), and 41.07% (100 mg/kg), with all values significantly higher than control (p < 0.05).
Increased delayed-type hypersensitivity response footpad thickness by 17.5% (10 mg/kg, 0.68 mm), 24.6% (20 mg/kg, 0.72 mm), 49.42% (50 mg/kg, 0.84 mm), and 54.25% (100 mg/kg, 0.95 mm), with all values significantly higher than control (p < 0.05).
Increased primary humoral antibody titers to 18.92 (10 mg/kg), 26.91 (20 mg/kg), 35.68 (50 mg/kg), and 36.51 (100 mg/kg), with all values significantly higher than control (p < 0.001).
Increased secondary humoral antibody titers to 43.62 (10 mg/kg), 56.26 (20 mg/kg), 70.24 (50 mg/kg), and 72.92 (100 mg/kg), with all values significantly higher than control (p < 0.05).

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
