Biological Activity
Mammea B/BA (0.25-1 μg/mL; 18 h) potently inhibits the growth of 6 Methicillin (HY-121544)-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus strains and 8 Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains, with MIC90 values ranging from 0.5 to 1 μg/mL and a uniform MIC50 of 0.25 μg/mL[1].
Mammea B/BA (0.125-8 μg/mL; 24 h) has a bacteriostatic effect against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 33591, with an MBC value greater than 8 μg/mL[1].
Mammea B/BA (0.0312-0.5 μg/mL; 24 h) does not exert a specific inhibitory effect on biofilm formation by Staphylococcus aureus USA300-0114[1].
