Neomyosuppressin
Neomyosuppressin (Dromyosuppressin) is a myosuppressive peptide. Neomyosuppressin is isolable from head extracts of Neobellieria bullata, as well as the brains and intestines of Drosophila melanogaster. Neomyosuppressin inhibits spontaneous visceral muscle movements of isolated insect hindguts and oviducts, as well as contractions of various insect visceral muscles. Neomyosuppressin slows the heart rate of adult and pupal Drosophila without altering rhythmicity.

Description
In Vitro
Synthetic neomyosuppressin (0.086 nM) completely inhibits spontaneous visceral muscle movements of isolated hindgut tissues from Leucophaea maderae at a threshold concentration of 0.086 nM, and exhibits reversible, dose-dependent responses[1].
Synthetic neomyosuppressin (0.34 nM) inhibits spontaneous visceral muscle movements of isolated Locusta migratoria (migratory locust) oviduct tissues at a threshold concentration of 0.34 nM, and elicits a reversible, dose-dependent response[1].
