PAR
Based on 1 Customer Validation
PAR is an azo dye widely used as a colorimetric reagent for metal ions. PAR forms stable chelates with different metal ions. PAR can also complex with heavy metal ions in polar organic solvents, such as ethanol.

Biological Activity
Guide (Following is our recommended protocol. This protocol only provides a guideline, and should be modified according to your specific needs)[1].
1. Synthesize PAR-functionalized thermosensitive ionic microgels (PAR-MG).
2. Dissolve nitrates (i.e., Ba2+, Cr2+, Al3+, Mn2+, Pb2+, Fe3+, Co2+, Zn2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+) in distilled water to prepare stock salt solutions with a concentration of 1 mM.
3. Adjust the pH of the microgel suspension using NaOH or HCl.
4. For the colorimetric detection of heavy metal ions, inject 2 mL of PAR-MG suspension (CMG = 0.125 mg/mL, CPAR = 0.0046 mg/mL) into a 1 cm quartz cuvette, then use a micropipette to gradually add a certain amount of heavy metal ion stock solution into the quartz cuvette. To keep the total volume of the PAR-MG microgel suspension to be tested from changing significantly, the total volume of the added heavy metal ion stock solution is less than 20 μL.
5. Qualitatively observe the color change of the PAR-MG microgel suspension after adding heavy metal ions via visual colorimetry, and conduct quantitative analysis using an ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer.
