PLZ-4
PLZ-4 is a cyclic peptide that selectively binds to bladder cancer cells and primary human bladder cancer cells. PLZ4 conjugated with fluorescent dyes or nanomaterials enables fluorescence imaging and targeted drug delivery to bladder cancer cells. PLZ-4 is used in bladder cancer-related research.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
PLZ-4 selectively binds to human bladder cancer cell lines 5637, T24, and TCCSUP, but does not bind to normal urothelial cells or other contaminating cells; it retains its binding ability to 5637 bladder cancer cells under urine conditions at pH 6.0[1].
PLZ‑4 relies on its DGR motif and C‑terminal GF residues for binding to 5637 bladder cancer cells[1].

Bioluminescent/Fluorescent Imaging Xenograft
Bioluminescent and fluorescent imaging xenograft models use tumor cells engineered to express optical reporters so tumor engraftment, growth, dissemination, and treatment response can be monitored longitudinally in living animals and validated ex vivo. Bioluminescence imaging usually measures luciferase activity after substrate administration and is commonly used as a surrogate for viable reporter-expressing tumor burden, while fluorescence imaging measures reporter or probe emission and can support tumor localization, ex vivo confirmation, or complementary multimodal analysis.
