Biological Activity
Poly[(R)-3-hydroxybutyrate] (PHB) nanofiber scaffolds (PHB/SF-0) support the survival of L929 mouse fibroblasts and HaCaT human keratinocytes, and significantly promote the proliferation of L929 cells after 7 days of culture compared with pure PHB scaffolds[1].
Poly[(R)-3-hydroxybutyrate] (3-day cell culture) nanofiber scaffold (PHB/SF-0) supports the survival and confluent growth of HaCaT human keratinocytes over a 3-day culture period, with no cell death detected[1].
PHB-PVA nanoparticles (10 mg/mL; 100 μL; 2 h) reduce the viability of HEK293T cells to less than 1%, indicating that the unloaded carrier formulation has low cytotoxicity and good cytocompatibility[2].
The encapsulation efficiency of arsenic trioxide in PHB-PVA nanoparticles reaches 93.99%, and the nanoparticles exhibit a sustained-release profile after an initial burst release, with approximately 13%, 30%, 33%, and 40% of the loaded drug released at 30 min, 8 h, 24 h, and 48 h, respectively[2].
