Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
(S)-1,2-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine generates Amadori-DPPE, CM-DPPE, and CE-DPPE under thermal conditions in a cell-free DPPE-glucose model system; among these, CM-DPPE forms via two pathways (oxidative cleavage of Amadori-DPPE and reaction with glyoxal), while CE-DPPE forms solely via reaction with methylglyoxal[1].
(S)-1,2-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine is a component of HPAE-co-PLA-DPPE nanoparticles loaded with Doxorubicin (HY-15142A). It exhibits concentration- and time-dependent cytotoxicity against A549 and MCF-7 cells, which is comparable to that of free DOX. Moreover, it can enter A549 cells and partially localize to lysosomes, but does not localize to mitochondria[2].
