Sialorphin is a neutral endopeptidase (NEP) and aminopeptidase N (APN) inhibitor that responds to androgen signals. Sialorphin blocks the degradation of endogenous opioid peptides and interacts with μ-, δ-, κ-opioid receptors. Sialorphin regulates the ERK/mTOR signaling pathway by inducing cell cycle arrest, enhancing ERK1/2 activity, and reducing the phosphorylation levels of mTOR, 4E-BP1, p70S6K; accordingly, Sialorphin exhibits antiproliferative activity against colorectal cancer, glioma and prostate cancer cells without cytotoxicity. In addition, Sialorphin also produces antinociceptive responses, regulates sexual behavior, relaxes corpus cavernosum smooth muscle, and alleviates experimental colitis. Sialorphin is also a copper (II) ion-binding ligand. Sialorphin has been used in mechanistic studies related to cancer, pain management and inflammatory bowel disease .

Triphenyl phosphate is an orally active, blood-brain barrier-permeable aryl organophosphate flame retardant and endocrine disruptor. Triphenyl phosphate disrupts mitochondrial dynamic balance through oxidative stress, induces excessive mitophagy and apoptosis, and ultimately leads to myocardial fibrosis. In the brain, Triphenyl phosphate activates the NF-κB inflammatory pathway by disrupting the gut microbiota, alters tryptophan metabolism and elevates neurotoxins, thereby inducing anxiety- and depression-like behaviors. In the skeletal and reproductive systems, Triphenyl phosphate inhibits osteoblast differentiation and induces germ cell apoptosis by suppressing the MAPK/ERK pathway and activating the JNK signal, respectively. In adipose and placental tissues, Triphenyl phosphate promotes lipid accumulation by activating the PI3K/AKT-PPARγ axis, and disrupts placental metabolism via the MAOA/ROS/NF-κB cascade, impairing neurodevelopment of offspring .

Kv1.5-IN-1 is a Kv1.5 channel inhibitor. Its target selectivity and pharmacodynamic effects were evaluated in an in vitro rat model. After the introduction of a methoxy group at the R5 position, Kv1.5-IN-1 showed inhibitory potency similar to that of the unsubstituted compound. Its IC50 value for hKv1.5 channels was 0.51 μM. Kv1.5-IN-1 exhibited a high degree of selectivity, nearly 2,600 times higher than compound Ik and 300 times higher than compound IId, indicating that it may be a safe inhibitor. Due to its good pharmacological behavior, Kv1.5-IN-1 deserves further pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic evaluation. These properties make Kv1.5-IN-1 a potential Kv1.5 channel inhibitor that may have application prospects in the treatment of related diseases.

Bovine serum albumin-modified gold nanoclusters (BSA-Au NCs) are nanomaterials combining gold nanoclusters and bovine serum albumin (BSA). Composed of several to dozens of gold atoms forming the core of the gold nanoclusters, BSA acts as a protective ligand, coating the surface of the gold nanoclusters. BSA-Au NCs are widely used due to their high luminescence properties and stability over a wide pH range. When Au(III) ions are introduced into a BSA solution, BSA acts as a scaffold protein, isolating and capturing Au ions, similar to the biomineralization behavior of inorganic ions in organisms in nature. The captured Au ions are then reduced in situ by BSA to form Au NCs. The synthesized Au NCs consist of 25-Au atoms and are stable in BSA as BSA-Au NCs, exhibiting strong red fluorescence. BSA-Au NCs possess good biocompatibility and their surface is easily modified or functionalized, making them attractive for many biomedical applications.
