tert-Butyl carbazate serves as a starting material for the preparation of heterocyclic and hydrazine derivatives. tert-Butyl carbazate undergoes coupling with aryl, heteroaryl, and alkenyl boronic acids to synthesize doubly protected monosubstituted hydrazines. Derivatives of tert-Butyl carbazate exhibit varying degrees of inhibitory activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and various fungi.

Description

tert-Butyl carbazate serves as a starting material for the preparation of heterocyclic and hydrazine derivatives. tert-Butyl carbazate undergoes coupling with aryl, heteroaryl, and alkenyl boronic acids to synthesize doubly protected monosubstituted hydrazines. Derivatives of tert-Butyl carbazate exhibit varying degrees of inhibitory activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and various fungi[1][2].

In Vitro

tert-Butyl carbazate reacts with various boronic acid substrates at room temperature in organic solvent under copper(I) chloride catalysis to form diprotected monosubstituted hydrazine derivatives in in vitro synthetic experiments[1].
tert-Butyl carbazate (compound 1) derived compound exhibit antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Micrococcus luteus, Gram-negative bacteria including Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Agrobacterium sp. and Erwinia sp., as well as fungi including Aspergillus flavus and Candida albicans, as demonstrated by the in vitro disk diffusion assay[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
