Biological Activity
The precursor of 2',7'-Dichlorofluorescein, 2',7'-Dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate, is lipophilic and can freely cross the cell membrane. After entering the cell, under the action of intracellular esterases, 2',7'-Dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate is converted into 2′,7′-Dichlorodihydrofluorescein (HY-153006). 2′,7′-Dichlorodihydrofluorescein is somewhat hydrophilic and remains inside the cell. When oxidants are present in the cell, it is oxidized to generate 2',7'-Dichlorofluorescein[1].
