4-Desmethoxy Omeprazole is a metabolite of Omeprazole (HY-B0113) and an impurity in its preparation process. Omeprazole is an orally active H+,K+-ATPase inhibitor and also a proton pump inhibitor. Omeprazole competitively inhibits the activity of CYP2C19, CYP3A4, and CYP2C9. Omeprazole inhibits gastric acid secretion and can be used for the treatment of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders. Omeprazole also has neuroprotective and antibacterial effects.
