6-Methoxybritannilactone is an inhibitor of NO production with an EC₅₀ of 3.2 μM. 6-Methoxybritannilactone can be used in the research of neurodegenerative diseases^[1].

In Vitro

6-Methoxybritannilactone (Compound 4) (5 μM; 24 h) does not significantly protect PC12 cells against H₂O₂-induced injury^[1].
6-Methoxybritannilactone (5 μM; 24 h) fails to significantly protect PC12 cells against 6-OHDA (HY-B1081)-induced injury^[1].
6-Methoxybritannilactone inhibits NO production in LPS (HY-D1056)-stimulated BV-2 microglia, with an EC₅₀ of 3.2 μM, and does not induce significant cytotoxicity at a concentration of 10 μM^[1].
