Verification Images

  • Experimental Validation Results for CD68 Antibody (YA799)
Immunocytochemistry analysis of Hela cells labeling CD68 with CD68 Antibody (HY-P80605) at 1/100 dilution. Cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde for 15 minutes at room temperature, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS for 15 minutes at room temperature, then blocked with quick block buffer for 10 minutes at room temperature. Cells were then incubated with CD68 Antibody (HY-P80605) at 1/100 dilution in quick block buffer overnight at 4 ℃. AF488-conjugated Goat Anti-Mouse IgG H&L(HY-P8005, Green) was used as the secondary antibody at 1/1,000 dilution. PBS instead of the primary antibody was used as the secondary antibody only control. The Nuclear counterstain was DAPI (Blue).

Background

  • Function

Could play a role in phagocytic activities of tissue macrophages, both in intracellular lysosomal metabolism and extracellular cell-cell and cell-pathogen interactions. Binds to tissue- and organ-specific lectins or selectins, allowing homing of macrophage subsets to particular sites. Rapid recirculation of CD68 from endosomes and lysosomes to the plasma membrane may allow macrophages to crawl over selectin-bearing substrates or other cells

  • Subcellular Localization

Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein; Endosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein; Lysosome membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein

  • Expression

Tissue_specificity:It is highly expressed in blood monocytes and tissue macrophages. It is also expressed in lymphocytes, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells. It is expressed in many tumor cell lines, which may enable them to attach to selectins on vascular endothelium, thereby promoting their spread to secondary sites.
