BETA-1 is the first twisted intramolecular charge transfer (TICT)-aggregation-induced emission (AIE) integration molecule. BETA-1 emits cyan fluorescence in lipid droplets (LDs) and red fluorescence in mitochondria. BETA-1 can be used for the simultaneous and dual-color imaging of LDs and mitochondria in vivo and in vitro.

Description

BETA-1 is the first twisted intramolecular charge transfer (TICT)-aggregation-induced emission (AIE) integration molecule. BETA-1 emits cyan fluorescence in lipid droplets (LDs) and red fluorescence in mitochondria. BETA-1 can be used for the simultaneous and dual-color imaging of LDs and mitochondria in vivo and in vitro[1].

Guide (The following is our recommended solution. This solution is merely a guideline and should be modified according to your specific needs.)
Wavelength: Blue: λex = 405 nm, λem = 430 - 500 nm; Red: λex = 561 nm, λem = 600 - 700 nm.
The HeLa cells were cultured in DMEM medium supplemented with 10% FBS, in a 37 °C CO?/air (5%/95%) incubator.
2. 5.0 × 103 HeLa cells were inoculated into each well of a 96-well glass-bottom plate and incubated for 24 hours.
3. For cell imaging, live HeLa cells were stained with 5 μM BETA-1 at 37 °C for 30 minutes.
4. Collect the emission light of BETA-1 under the excitation wavelengths of 405 or 561 nm. Record digital images using a laser scanning confocal microscope. Analyze the images using Fiji/ImageJ.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
