A7R5 is a rat Fibroblast spontaneously immortalized cell line derived from Thoracic aorta, smooth muscle. Its spontaneous immortalization permits extended propagation while retaining lineage-associated properties. A7R5 is used to investigate cell proliferation, mitochondrial function, and gene-expression regulation in a controlled cellular system.
