Definition:

Anaphylaxis is an acute, potentially life-threatening systemic hypersensitivity reaction. Anaphylaxis is an Immunoglobulin (Ig) E-mediated reaction, IgG or immune complex complement-related immunologic reactions that lead to degranulation of mast cells can also cause anaphylaxis.
