Description

Bis (picolinoyl) fluorescein is a Cu2+ esterase activity probe with both fluorogenic and chromogenic properties. Bis (picolinoyl) fluorescein enables quantitative analysis of free Cu2+, as well as detection of esterolytic activity of Cu bound to organic ligands or biomolecules[1].

In Vitro

Bis(picolinoyl)fluorescein (Compound 1) (1-10 μM) acts as a highly selective chromogenic and fluorogenic probe for detecting the esterase activity of free and partially bound copper(II) ions in cell-free pH 7.0 buffer, with a fluorimetric detection limit of 0.1 μM copper(II)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
