Biological Activity: Carindacillin (Indanyl carbenicillin; CP-15464-2 free base) is an orally active prodrug of Carbenicillin (HY-B0525). Carindacillin undergoes intestinal uptake via a proton gradient-driven carrier-mediated pathway and is rapidly hydrolyzed in vivo to release the bioactive Carbenicillin, which interferes with cell wall synthesis by inhibiting bacterial penicillin-binding proteins. Carindacillin can be used in research related to bacterial infections[1][2].
