Biological Activity: Bialaphos (SF-1293) sodium is a phosphinothricinylalanylalanine. Bialaphos sodium also acts as a precursor of herbicides and antibacterial agents. After entering bacterial or plant cells, Bialaphos sodium is converted into phosphinothricin, an inhibitor of glutamine synthetase[1].
