Biological Activity
IFN-gamma Protein, Rat is a pro-inflammatory cytokine with potent immunomodulatory, anti-proliferative, and antiviral properties.
Interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) is a cytokine with potent immunomodulatory, anti-proliferative, and antiviral properties. IFN-γ activates cells via a different receptor than IFN-α and IFN-β, which accounts for the different physiological properties of the proteins. Production of IFN-γ is largely restricted to activated CD4+ TH1 T cells, CD8+ T cells, and natural killer cells. One of the most important consequences of IFN-γ secretion is the activation of macrophages. In addition, IFN-γ plays a central role in inflammatory responses by activating endothelial cells, promoting TH1 cell development and cellular immune responses, and up-regulation of major histocompatability complex protein expression on antigen-presenting cells[1].
1.The ED50 is <0.5 ng/mL as measured by WEHI-279 cells, corresponding to a specific activity of >2 × 106 units/mg.
2.Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized rat IFN gamma at 10 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind biotinylated rat IFN gamma R1. The ED50 for this effect is 5-40 ng/mL.

IFN-gamma Protein, Rat purchased from MedChemExpress. Usage Cited in: Sens Actuators B Chem. 2024 May 1, 406, 135441.
Cells were incubated with 10 μg/mL LPS + 50 ng/mL IFN-γ (IFN-gamma) for 12 h, then incubated with 200 μM UA for 1 h, and finally added 10 μM ER-ONOO-NPs for 3 h. The results showed that stronger fluorescence signals in R28 cells were observed in the LPS and IFN-γ treated group, and the fluorescence intensity was attenuated with the addition of UA as the ONOO− scavenger.
