Deltakephalin is a potent, selective opiate δ-receptor agonist. Deltakephalin has analgesic properties[1].

In Vivo

Deltakephalin (2 nM/rat; ICV; once) produces a pronounced analgesia in rats[1].

Animal Model: Male spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR/n/Ibm) and male Wistar Albino Glaxo rats (WAG) (250-300 g)[1]
Dosage: 2 nM/rat
Administration: Intracerebroventrical injection
Result: Produced pronounced analgesia in male spontaneously hypertensive rats with EC50 values of 0.57 and 0.88 nM for the tail flick test and the tail compression test, respectively.
