DMPE-PEG2000-Mal
DMPE-PEG2000-Mal is a conjugate composed of DMPE, PEG chains, and maleimide (Mal). The maleimide group in DMPE-PEG2000-Mal can undergo a specific Michael addition reaction with thiol-containing (-SH) biomolecules (such as peptides, antibodies, and aptamers), enabling targeted modification of liposomes/nanoparticles.

Biological Activity
The structure of DMPE-PEG-Mal comprises three key components that work synergistically:
DMPE: Acts as a hydrophobic anchor, securely embedding the entire molecule into the membrane structure of lipid nanoparticles.
PEG chains: Act as hydrophilic spacers, forming a hydration layer on the particle surface, reducing non-specific adsorption and immune system recognition and clearance, thus prolonging the carrier's circulation time in vivo.
Maleimide: A reaction interface located at the end of the PEG chain, it can undergo a specific Michael addition reaction with biomolecules containing thiol groups (-SH), such as peptides, antibodies, and aptamers, achieving targeting or tracking functions.
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
