Description

Flubenzimine is a cyclic amidine acaricide. Flubenzimine significantly reduces the levels of dopamine and its precursor dopa in Rhizoglyphus echinopus[1].

In Vitro

Flubenzimine (100 μM; 30 min) inhibits the degradation of 2-phenylethylamine (PEA) by 16% in whole tissue homogenates of the bulb mite Rhizoglyphus echinopus[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Flubenzimine (1.0 mg/mL; pre-coated on the surface of exposure chambers; 1-24 h) causes a statistically significant, time-dependent decrease in dopamine levels in adult female Pyemotes ventricosus[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Adult female bulb mites (2-6 days old, 10 mg total mass per group)[1]
Dosage: 1.0 mg/mL
Administration: precoated onto exposure chamber surfaces; 1 hour or 24 hours exposure; held in darkness at 25°C
Result: Reduced DA levels to 55% of control levels after 1 hour exposure.
Reduced DOPA levels to 94% of control levels after 1 hour exposure.
Reduced DA levels to 33% of control levels after 24 hours exposure.
Reduced DOPA levels to 48% of control levels after 24 hours exposure.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
