Perflubron
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Perflubron (Perfluorooctyl bromide) is a contrast medium for magnetic resonance imaging and sonography. Perflubron inhibits chemokine expression and NF-κB activation. Perflubron can be emulsified with egg phospholipids (EYP) and shows exceptionally fast excretion characteristics. Perflubron has anti-inflammatory, antiviral and cytoprotective effects.

Actividad biológica
Perflubron (40-48 h) attenuates neutrophil adhesion to activated endothelial cells (HUVECs) in vitro[2].
Perflubron (200 μL, 3 days) protects against hyperoxia-induced airway epithelial cell (Calu-3) injury by promoting cellular integrity as well as cytologic modifications[3].
Perflubron (40 min-4 h) stimulates mucin secretion in the tracheal segments of adult ferrets[4].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
Perflubron (10 mL/kg, instillation, instilled over approximately 1 min) enhances adenovirus-mediated gene expression in lungs of transgenic mice with chronic alveolar filling[6].
Perflubron (39.4-46.6 mL/kg, instillation, instillation times of 17-28 minutes) increases BAL fluid total cell count and β-galactosidase activity in rhesus macaques[7].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Select the appropriate dissolution method based on your experimental animal and administration route.
- For the following dissolution methods, please ensure to first prepare a clear stock solution using an In Vitro approach and then sequentially add co-solvents:
- To ensure reliable experimental results, the clarified stock solution can be appropriately stored based on storage conditions. As for the working solution for In Vivo experiments, it is recommended to prepare freshly and use it on the same day.
- The percentages shown for the solvents indicate their volumetric ratio in the final prepared solution. If precipitation or phase separation occurs during preparation, heat and/or sonication can be used to aid dissolution.
Add each solvent one by one: 10% DMSO 40% PEG300 5% Tween-80 45% Saline
Solubility: ≥ 1.67 mg/mL (3.35 mM); Clear solution
This protocol yields a clear solution of ≥ 1.67 mg/mL (saturation unknown).
Taking 1 mL working solution as an example, add 100 μL DMSO stock solution (16.7 mg/mL) to 400 μL PEG300, and mix evenly; then add 50 μL Tween-80 and mix evenly; then add 450 μL Saline to adjust the volume to 1 mL.
Preparation of Saline: Dissolve 0.9 g sodium chloride in ddH₂O and dilute to 100 mL to obtain a clear Saline solution.
