Contributes to transcription cis-regulatory region binding activity. Involved in several processes, including lipid homeostasis; negative regulation of secretion; and regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Acts upstream of or within cellular lipid metabolic process and negative regulation of transcription, DNA-templated. Located in cytoplasm and nucleus. Part of RNA polymerase II transcription regulator complex. Is expressed in several structures, including 1st branchial arch; genitourinary system; gut; hemolymphoid system gland; and nervous system. Used to study ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in obesity. Orthologous to human NR1H3 (nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group H member 3).
