Hydroheptelidic acid is a novel orally active sesquiterpene lactone metabolite discovered in the endophytic fungus Phyllosticta sp. strain 76 from conifers. Hydroheptelidic acid exhibits insecticidal activity against Choristoneura fumiferana larvae. Hydroheptelidic acid can be used in research related to pest control.
