Description

Inositol nicotinate (Hexanicit) has vasodilating effects and can be used in research on peripheral arterial disease, showing efficacy when taken orally. Inositol nicotinate does not significantly improve triglyceride levels in mice induced by biphenyl esters[1][2].

In Vivo

Inositol nicotinate (0.1-0.3 g/kg, oral , once a day, four days) shows no significant improvement in biphenyl ester-induced hypertriglyceridemia in mice[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Bifendate-treated mice[1]
Dosage: 0.1, 0.3 g/kg; daily; 4 days
Administration: Oral
Result: Reduced the level of serum TG slightly, but the difference was not statistically significant.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
