Parconazole

Parconazole is an orally active imidazole derivative and antifungal (fungal) agent. Parconazole inhibits sterol 14α-demethylase (CYP51) and Δ22-desaturase (CYP61), disrupting fungal Ergosterol (HY-N0181) biosynthesis by reducing the availability of ergosterol and promoting the accumulation of 14-methyl sterols. Parconazole exhibits in vitro antifungal activity against dermatophytes, Candida species, Blastomyces dermatitidis yeast, piedraia, and actinomycetes. Parconazole can be used in the study of fungal infections.
