Thromboxane B2 is a prostaglandin derivative that is released during anaphylaxis. Thromboxane B2 induces arterial contraction and platelet aggregation. Thromboxane B2 is a biological inactive product and circulating catabolite of thromboxane A2. Thromboxane B2 levels in peripheral venous blood and coronary sinus blood can be used as a diagnostic marker for angina. Thromboxane B2 level in serum is also associated with inhibition of COX-1 activity inhibition in platelets. Thromboxane B2 is a major product of prostaglandin endoperoxide metabolism. Thromboxane B2 produces dose-related decreases in airflow rate, tidal volume and dynamic lung compliance, whilst simultaneously increasing pulmonary airway resistance in dog model. Thromboxane B2 appears to be a naturally occurring bronchoactive metabolite in the bioconversion of arachidonic acid .

Sesamoside is an orally active anti-inflammatory, anti-hypoxic and analgesic agent. Sesamoside inhibits the phosphorylation of ERK and JNK, downregulates NLRP3 expression, restricts the nuclear localization of P65, regulates AKR1B1 expression, and reduces the expression of TRPV1 gene in the spinal cord. Sesamoside reduces the production of TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, iNOS and NO, restores cellular metabolism and organ function, and alleviates cold and mechanical hyperalgesia. Sesamoside can be used in research related to septic shock, high-altitude pulmonary edema and neuropathic pain .

m-Tolualdehyde (3-Methylbenzaldehyde) is an aldehyde metabolite produced by m-xylene metabolism, and it bidirectionally regulates the CYP 2B1, CYP 2E1, and CYP 4B1 isoenzymes in the respiratory tract of rats. m-Tolualdehyde serves as an oxidation substrate and carbon source for Pseudomonas Pxy, and it can be oxidized to m-toluic acid in an NAD + -dependent manner. m-Tolualdehyde exerts a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on CYP 2B1 and CYP 2E1 in the nasal mucosa and lungs of rats, and a dose-dependent activating effect on pulmonary CYP 4B1. m-Tolualdehyde can form aldehyde-heme adducts with the heme group of cytochrome P450. m-Tolualdehyde can be used in studies related to metabolic enzymes in the respiratory tract of rats .

TBAJ-876 is an orally active diarylquinoline anti-Mycobacterium agent. TBAJ-876 regulates energy metabolism by targeting the c and ε subunits of Mycobacterium tuberculosis F-ATP synthase, exerts bactericidal activity against replicating Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and retains activity against strains carrying the Rv0678 mutation. TBAJ-876 undergoes N-demethylation in vivo to form its major active metabolite TBAJ-876-M3, which has lower lipophilicity and hERG potassium channel binding affinity. TBAJ-876 is well tolerated in BALB/c mice and significantly reduces the colony-forming units of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the lungs. In addition, TBAJ-876 exhibits inhibitory activity against Mycobacterium abscessus, reduces bacterial loads in the lungs and spleens of infected mice, and shows no antagonistic effect when used in combination with common antibiotics. TBAJ-876 can be used in studies related to tuberculosis and Mycobacterium abscessus pulmonary diseases .

Duroquinone (Tetramethylquinone) is a model compound of amphiphilic quinone, which can be used as an oxidative-reductive activity probe. Duroquinone can be easily reduced by biological systems to hydrogen peroxide (DQH₂) or semi-quinone free radicals (DQ•⁻). Duroquinone can freely pass through the cell membrane, facilitating the study of the electron transfer process inside and outside the cells. Duroquinone can be used to investigate the relationship between metabolism in the pulmonary circulation and endothelial cells .

Thymidine phosphorylase is a nucleoside metabolism enzyme that plays an important role in the pyrimidine salvage pathway. Thymidine phosphorylase catalyzes the conversion of thymidine to thymine and 2-deoxy-α-D-ribose-1-phosphate (dRib-1-P). Thymidine phosphorylase plays an important role in platelet activation in vitro and thrombosis in vivo by participating in multiple signaling pathways. Thymidine phosphorylase can be used for the study of myocardial infarction, stroke, pulmonary embolism and cancer .
