SMN modulator-1
SMN modulator-1 is an SMN2 mRNA splicing modulator. SMN modulator-1 increases the expression of full-length SMN (FL-SMN) mRNA by promoting the inclusion of exon 7 in the SMN2 gene. SMN modulator-1 can be used in research related to spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).

Description
In Vitro
SMN modulator-1 (compound 80) upregulates FL-SMN mRNA expression levels in SMA patient-derived fibroblasts (GM03813), with relative expression levels of 100%-120% compared to the control group[1].

RNA extraction experimental
By lysing cells, releasing RNA, and removing impurities such as proteins and DNA, high-purity RNA products are finally obtained. The commonly used traditional method is the guanidine isothiocyanate/phenol/chloroform method (Trizol), which is suitable for a variety of animal materials including animal tissues, microorganisms, cultured cells, etc., and most plant materials.
