Angiotensin-converting enzyme (Kininase II) is a dicarboxypeptidase, it converts inactive Angiotensin I (Ang I) to active Ang II and degrades active bradykinin (BK). Angiotensin-converting enzyme is a potent vasoconstrictor, is often used in biochemical studies.

Soluble in water (1 mg/mL). Or dissolve as per specific experimental reference.
A concentration of 1 mg/ml in 0.01 M potassium phosphate buffer, pH 7.0, containing 0.5 M NaCl has been reported to remain fully active after storage at -20°C for several months. Solutions with lower concentrations are less stable.
