Antho-riamide I
Antho-riamide I is a neuropeptide and an inhibitor of spontaneous contraction of endodermal muscle groups. Antho-riamide I can be isolated from the sea anemone Anthopleura elegantissima. Antho-riamide I resists degradation by non-specific aminopeptidases via the L-3-phenyllactic acid blocking group at its amino terminus.

Biological Activity
Antho-riamide I (0.01-5 μM) inhibits the spontaneous contraction of endodermal muscles, including the sphincter ring of Calliactis parasitica and other sea anemone muscle groups[1].
Antho-riamide I (200 nM; 1 h) is resistant to degradation by aminopeptidase M, Chymotrypsin (HY-108910) and Proteinase K (HY-108717), but is completely hydrolyzed by pronase[1].
