Description

Antibacterial agent 298 exhibits significant antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas putida (ATCC 25922) with an IC50 4.48 µg/mL. Antibacterial agent 298 shows strong antibiofilm activity. Antibacterial agent 298 also inhibits approximately 50% of biofilm formation in L. lactis and P. putida. Antibacterial agent 298 can be used for the study of Bacterial infections caused by multidrug-resistant bacteria (MDR)[1].

In Vitro

Antibacterial agent 298 (Compound 3a) (10-100 μg/mL, 24 h) shows good antibacterial effects against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially against Gram-negative bacteria[1].
Antibacterial agent 298 exhibits concentration-dependent anti-biofilm activity against all tested strains: Lactococcus lactis (MIC50 = 24.8 μg/mL); Bacillus megaterium (MIC50 = 48.6 μg/mL); Pseudomonas putida (MIC50 = 28.3 μg/mL); and Marcescens Serratia (MIC50 = 31.9 μg/mL)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
