Biological Activity
Please do not refer to only one article to determine the experimental conditions. It is recommended to determine the optimal experimental conditions (animal strain, age, dosage, frequency and cycle, detection time and indicators, etc.) through preliminary experiments before the formal experiment.
Methyl yellow can be used in animal modeling to create hepatic tumor models. After administration of Methyl yellow, the levels of dihydroxycholan acid (DHA) decrease in rats that secrete more than 10 mg/100 g body weight of trihydroxycholan acid (THA) daily. The bile volume also increases in the treated rats, and there is a strong correlation between DHA levels and bile volume[2].
Administration: 0.06 % of diet • feed • 2-5 months
(2) The rats were either killed after a period of bile discharge or euthanized with ether. A histological examination was performed on the livers of the euthanized mice.
