Biological Activity: Anecortave acetate is a potent ocular angiostatic agent. Anecortave acetate inhibits neovascularization which is induced by many different angiogenic factors, and increases plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) mRNA expression. Anecortave acetate can be used to research ocular neovascular diseases[1][2].
