Cyclanoline chloride is an alkaloid. Cyclanoline chloride can be isolated from Fangji. Cyclanoline (chloride) inhibits the phosphorylation of JAK2 and STAT3, and induces Apoptosis. In Vitro

Cyclanoline (50 μM; 24 h) chloride inhibits the JAK2/STAT3 pathway in cisplatin-resistant human bladder cancer T24/DR cells, reducing cell migration and invasion, promoting apoptosis, inducing G0/G1 phase cell cycle arrest, and reversing cisplatin resistance, with enhanced effects when combined with cisplatin[1].

In Vivo

Cyclanoline (chloride) (40 mg/kg; i.p.; every 2 days; 13 administrations) chloride significantly inhibits growth of cisplatin-resistant bladder cancer xenografts in nude mice and downregulates p-STAT3 expression[1].
