Cyclic L27-11 is a peptidomimetic compound targeting the bacterial outer membrane protein LptD. Cyclic L27-11 exhibits nanomolar antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Cyclic L27-11 binds to LptD and inhibits the translocation of lipopolysaccharides to the cell surface. Cyclic L27-11 can be used in studies related to Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection.

In Vitro
Cyclic L27-11 potently inhibits growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 with an MIC of 0.01 μg/mL, with Trp2 and Trp8 side chains being critical for maintaining this antimicrobial activity[1].
Cyclic L27-11 populates nascent β-hairpin-like structures in aqueous solution, with residues near the DPro-LPro template most constrained and increasing flexibility toward the Arg6-Arg7 loop tip[1].
Cyclic L27-11 exhibits a far-UV CD spectrum in aqueous solution consistent with β-hairpin secondary structure[1].
