Dermcidin-1L (human) exerts potent bactericidal activity against E. coli, E. faecalis and S. aureus, as well as fungicidal activity against C. albicans. Dermcidin-1L (human) is used in studies related to bacterial and fungal skin infections.

Description
In Vitro
Dermcidin-1L (human) (4 h) exhibits potent bactericidal activity against E. coli, E. faecalis, and S. aureus, and exerts fungicidal activity against C. albicans in pH 7.4 phosphate buffer[1].
Dermcidin-1L (4 h) exhibits potent broad-spectrum bactericidal and fungicidal activity against Gram-positive bacteria (S. aureus CMCC (B) 26003, S. aureus 293), Gram-negative bacteria (E. coli CMCC (B) 44102, P. sputita), and the fungus C. albicans CMCC (B) 98001, with its 50% bactericidal concentration ranging from 0.5 to 17.8 μg/mL[2].
Dermcidin-1L (human) (0.8-100 μM; 1 h) does not induce detectable erythrocyte hemolysis at concentrations up to 100 μM[2].
