Serpinin is an agonist of the protease inhibitor Nexin-1 (PN-1). Serpinin upregulates the expression of PN-1 through the cAMP-PKA-Sp1 signaling pathway, promoting granule biogenesis in endocrine cells. Serpinin is used in research related to the regulation of secretory function. Serpinin is a selective agonist for β-adrenergic receptors.
