Terizidone
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Terizidone is an antibacterial agent. Terizidone acts as a prodrug to release D-cycloserine (HY-B0030), which competitively inhibits alanine racemase and D-alanine:D-alanine ligase, interfering with peptidoglycan synthesis and thereby inhibiting cell wall assembly in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Terizidone does not significantly inhibit human liver microsomal CYP1A2 or CYP2C9 enzyme activity. Terizidone can be used in research related to tuberculosis.

Biological Activity
제품 설명
In Vitro
Terizidone is a prodrug obtained by condensation of two molecules of cycloserine with one molecule of terephthalaldehyde; the active component D-cycloserine (HY-B0030) is a D-alanine analog that competitively inhibits alanine racemase and D-alanine:D-alanine ligase[1].
Terizidone does not inhibit CYP1A2-dependent Phenacetin (HY-B0476) O-deethylation or CYP2C9-dependent Diclofenac (HY-15036) 4'-hydroxylation in human liver microsomes[2].

Research Protocol for Infectious Diseases
Infectious-disease experiments test how pathogens interact with host barriers, innate immune receptors, inflammatory signaling, pathogen replication, and tissue injury; pattern-recognition receptors such as TLRs, RIG-I-like receptors, NOD-like receptors, and inflammasomes detect microbial molecules and activate NF-κB, interferon, and cytokine responses. The central hypothesis is that infection severity reflects the balance between pathogen burden and host response: protective inflammation restricts pathogen growth, whereas excessive or mislocalized inflammation contributes to tissue damage and disease phenotype. Unresolved questions include which host pathways are protective versus pathogenic, why some infection models fail to translate to human disease, and which combined readouts best predict clinically relevant infection outcomes.
