BLI Assay Services
Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) is a powerful label-free optical technique primarily used for studying biomolecular interactions in real-time. This method operates on the principle of optical interference, which occurs when light waves reflect off the bio-layer — a thin film consisting of biomolecules immobilized on the surface of a biosensor.
How BLI Works
In BLI, a biosensor probe coated with a bio-layer is immerse in a solution containing the target biomolecules. As these biomolecules bind to the bio-layer, changes in the thickness and refractive index of the layer take place, which in turn affects the interference pattern of reflected light. This results in a measurable shift in the wavelength of light that can be detected and quantified.
