MOG (35-55), human
Based on 1 Customer Validation
MOG (35-55), human is a synthetic encephalitogenic peptide fragment (residues 35-55) of human myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein, and also serves as a myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein peptide epitope. MOG (35-55), human induces mild central nervous system inflammation in mice, but does not trigger demyelinating lesions, only causing mild clinical neurological symptoms. MOG (35-55) induces experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis mouse models that recapitulate the features of optic neuritis, multiple sclerosis, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated diseases, and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders.

Biological Activity
MOG (35-55) induces experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis in mice, generating a persistent optic neuritis phenotype accompanied by acute visual loss, progressive retinal thinning, retinal ganglion cell loss, and short-segment optic nerve demyelination, which recapitulates the features of multiple sclerosis, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease, and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model:NOD/Lt (female, 12-18 weeks of age, induced via intradermal injection of MOG (35-55), human emulsified in complete Freund's adjuvant, followed by intravenous pertussis toxin)[1]
-
Dosage:100 μg (MOG (35-55), human); 300 ng (pertussis toxin)
-
Administration:intradermal; single dose; emulsified in complete Freund's adjuvant, divided equally among hind footpads and neck; intravenous; two doses (immediately post-peptide injection and 48 hours later)
-
Result:Resulted in 50% clinical disease incidence (2/4 mice).
Resulted in 66.7% histological disease incidence (2/3 mice).
Delayed disease onset to day 14.
Revealed only a few foci of mild inflammation with no demyelination in the central nervous system.
