Nannochelin C
Nannochelin C is a citrate-hydroxamate siderophore and iron chelator found in Nannocystis exedens strain Na e485. The MIC of Nannochelin C against Brevibacterium ammoniagenes is 0.39 μg/mL, and it exhibits weak growth inhibitory activity against some Gram-positive bacteria. The antimicrobial effect of Nannochelin C may be associated with its metal chelating activity. Nannochelin C can be used in studies related to siderophores, microbial iron metabolism and antimicrobial activity.

Biological Activity
Nannochelin C (40 μg/disc) exhibits weak antibacterial activity against some Gram-positive bacteria in the agar diffusion assay, with inhibition zone diameters of 15 mm and 22 mm against Bacillus megaterium and Brevibacterium ammoniagenes, respectively[1].
Nannochelin C inhibits the growth of *Brevibacterium ammoniagenes* with an MIC of 0.39 μg/mL[1].
Nannochelin C (40 μg/disc) exhibits incomplete inhibition against Micrococcus luteus, Staphylococcus aureus, and Rhizopus arrhizus, with inhibition zone diameters of 14, 16, and 15 mm, respectively, but shows no detectable growth inhibition against Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, and Candida albicans[1].
